Mohini X. Katyayani is a woman in STEM who has established herself as an author, critic, and DEI consultant for the entertainment and publishing industries. Her writing has been featured in BuzzFeed, Medium, Paper, and X Marks The Spot, an anthology on non-binary identity edited by Theo Hendrie. Her writing is forthcoming in Internet Decolonized, edited by Henna Zamurd Butt and M.I. Franklin (Oxford University Press), and Thoomar: An Anthology of Queer South Asian Voices, edited by Shahamat Uddin (Jessica Kingsley Publishers).
As a journalist, Katyayani has interviewed acclaimed figures including Domee Shi, Academy Award-winning filmmaker and VP of Creative at Pixar, and Rebecca F. Kuang, New York Times bestselling author of The Poppy War trilogy and Babel.
During her time as a transmedia storytelling consultant, Katyayani founded Off Colour, a global nonprofit collective dedicated to empowering BIPOC creatives to shape media through commentary, critique, and consultation. Through her consultancy, she has collaborated with bestselling authors, independent creators, and industry leaders such as Isla Olsen and Nisha Sharma, as well as major companies including HarperCollins, Netflix, Penguin Random House, and The Walt Disney Company.
